In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Xicko Loco! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 36 wins and 17 losses; Chad Strdoza! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Loco tries to clinch up but Strdoza circles away and keeps his distance. Strdoza drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Loco defends it well. Loco is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Loco takes the fight into the clinch. Loco tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Loco wants to take the fight to the mat but Strdoza manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Loco definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Loco is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Strdoza pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xicko Loco. That's going to take a lot out of him. Loco has clasped his hands together around Strdoza's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Loco (4) vs (0) Strdoza Strdoza tries to buck Loco off but Loco is having none of it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Strdoza is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Strdoza makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Strdoza. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Loco content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Strdoza has locked up a guillotine! Strdoza's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Loco is holding on here and Strdoza must be using up a lot of energy. Loco has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Strdoza gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
