Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jouka Ahola (ranked 2231 p4p, 3304 weight class) and Jon Miocic (ranked 241 p4p, 342 weight class). Miocic has chosen Here We Go! - Lil Nas X as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miocic tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ahola defends well and Miocic ends up having to push Ahola into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ahola has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Doom\'s Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Ahola throws a shot from downtown. Miocic moves away and avoids it.
A low kick from Ahola is predictable there
and Miocic counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Ahola misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Miocic.
Miocic throws a nice outside leg kick.
Miocic has a takedown stuffed.

Ahola tries to keep at a distance but Miocic has taken the fight into the clinch.

Ahola breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Miocic is looking to clinch but Ahola is avoiding it.
Ahola was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Ahola defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Miocic.
Jouka Ahola has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Miocic.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Miocic counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Miocic.
Miocic is looking for a takedown.
Ahola wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Miocic has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ahola after a bit of a struggle.
Ahola tries to break free but Miocic pushes him back against the cage.

Ahola wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Miocic's closed guard. He's half up but Miocic has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Miocic pivots and extends the arm, Ahola falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Miocic! Well done that man!
