Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonas Kahnwald!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Louis!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Steve Montenegro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kahnwald uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Louis.
Louis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Nice jab there from Louis.
Louis throws a jab but it's blocked by Kahnwald.
Kahnwald attempts a counter takedown but Louis avoids it well and moves away.
Louis lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kahnwald at a distance.
Kahnwald steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Louis.
A telegraphed right hand from Louis misses the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Louis lands a right hook to the body.
A jab lands there for Louis.
Louis throws a right and a left that Kahnwald avoids nicely.
Kahnwald tries to counter with a takedown but Louis is quick to defend against it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Louis cracks Kahnwald with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Kahnwald slips under a jab.
Louis throws a right hand that Kahnwald ducks under and follows up with a left that Kahnwald also avoids with ease.
Kahnwald changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Louis scores with a jab. Kahnwald acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Kahnwald moves out of range of the strikes.
Kahnwald drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Louis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kahnwald attempts a counter takedown but Louis avoids it well and moves away.
Kahnwald takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
BOOM! Louis lands a beautiful left hook that drops Kahnwald. Kahnwald tries to recover but Louis is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Kahnwald lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Louis!
