Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyrion Slamister! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Philip Roth! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roth misses with a lunging right hand
and Slamister counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Roth is looking to control Slamister's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Roth avoid being mounted? Slamister works his way into full mount! Slamister definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Roth is looking to get to half guard. Roth tries to lock up and control but Slamister gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Slamister working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roth is desperately trying to improve his position but Slamister has a good base and remains in mount. Slamister thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

That's one minute gone in the round. Slamister is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Roth can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Roth is squirming around, avoiding Slamister's attempts to control the action. Roth is looking to improve his position but Slamister isn't that keen on the idea. Slamister throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Slamister working for a guillotine from mount but Roth is in no mood to give up. Slamister wants to control the pace but Roth is squirming around nicely. Slamister has hold of Roth's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Roth manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Roth blocking the ground and pound. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Slamister trying to control but he's not successful this time. Roth is in all sorts of trouble here.

Slamister jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Roth manages to avoid the submission attempt. Roth is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Roth is looking for a sweep. Slamister is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Slamister is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Roth manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Slamister engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Slamister trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Slamister postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Roth is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Slamister, into his guard. Slamister is looking to sweep but instead, Roth has passed into half guard.
Roth has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Slamister defend it? Roth steps over the head and cranks it - Slamister is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Roth!
