Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexey Turmarrov (ranked 3218 p4p, 24528 weight class) and Dwight Shrute (ranked 373 p4p, 559 weight class). Shrute has chosen Battlestart Galactica theme as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turmarrov fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shrute, pushing him back against the cage.

Shrute pulls Turmarrov into guard.
Turmarrov postures up in Shrute's guard and throws a big left but Shrute blocks it.
Shrute preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Turmarrov drops back looking for a leg! Shrute is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shrute manages to kick Turmarrov off! Turmarrov jumps back into Shrute's guard.

Turmarrov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Shrute dives on top into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turmarrov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shrute defends it easily.

Shrute with a nice head shot there.

Turmarrov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shrute can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Turmarrov has his foot on Shrute's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shrute works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turmarrov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shrute gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Turmarrov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Turmarrov tries to get out of the position.

Turmarrov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shrute doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shrute manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Turmarrov is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Shrute rolls with it to try and escape but Turmarrov cranks on the arm and Shrute is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
