Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mister Sparkles (ranked 4055 p4p, 4151 weight class) and Captain Kirk (ranked 390 p4p, 406 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mister Sparkles has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mister Sparkles seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mister Sparkles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Captain Kirk!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sparkles lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kirk has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kirk and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Sparkles looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kirk is fending him off so far but Sparkles persists. Nope, Kirk circles away and we're back to standing.
Kirk tries to bum rush Sparkles with a series of wild strikes but Sparkles uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sparkles throws a big counter combination but Kirk scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Kirk looks to land a left hand but Sparkles moved out of range nicely.
Sparkles blocks a low kick nicely.
Kirk leaves Sparkles with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kirk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sparkles went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sparkles or perhaps it was just good defense by Kirk, which made it look bad.
Kirk tries to counter with a clinch but Sparkles shakes him off and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mister Sparkles. That's going to take a lot out of him.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sparkles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sparkles is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kirk is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kirk has escaped and now he's on top!
Kirk is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sparkles is looking to stand up but Kirk isn't so interested in that idea.
Kirk won't allow Sparkles to sweep him here.

Sparkles is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Kirk moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Kirk counters with a three punch combo that has Sparkles backing up. Sparkles nods at Kirk to acknowledge the strikes.

Kirk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sparkles wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Kirk wants to control but Sparkles is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kirk felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Sparkles winds up and cracks Kirk with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sparkles tries to pass to full mount but Kirk defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sparkles is looking to take a break and control but Kirk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kirk is looking for a sweep. Sparkles is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Sparkles wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Kirk uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

The cut man is working on Mister Sparkles's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Kirk throws a solid leg kick but Sparkles takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Kirk.

Kirk bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sparkles's guard.
Kirk is looking to stand up but Sparkles won't let him.

Mister Sparkles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Kirk is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sparkles is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kirk looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It looked like Sparkles was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kirk has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Sparkles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kirk tries to avoid it but Sparkles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kirk to the ground. Kirk escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Kirk in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Kirk is pressed up against the cage. Sparkles has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kirk down to the mat. Kirk avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Captain Kirk really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Tokzik Dope L.A. logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
