Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Spartacus Rome (ranked 5005 p4p, 23978 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 511 p4p, 546 weight class). The key to victory for Spartacus Rome has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spartacus Rome! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anderson Silva! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, William Gold and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva dives in and grabs Rome's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rome pushes down on Silva's head and hops out. Silva looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Rome closes the distance and lands a one-two. Silva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rome lands a jab-cross combination. Rome looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well. Silva has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice sprawl there from Rome as Silva shoots in. Rome displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silva. Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rome moves out of range and avoids them all easily. No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt. Rome lands a left and a right that sends Silva crashing to the canvas! Rome dives into mount looking to finish!

Rome feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Rome then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Rome throws a combination. Silva tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Silva takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. A clash of legs there as Silva blocks the low kick. Rome is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rome tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rome to the ground. Rome escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Spartacus Rome seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rome throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rome fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Spartacus Rome overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rome keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully. A right-left combo lands from Rome. Rome rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Silva shoots in for a takedown but Rome shows good takedown defense. Rome appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rome sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat. A left and a right from Rome both land. Nice combination. Rome lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Silva circles away quickly and effectively. Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A low kick from Rome misses so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rome swivels though and keeps the full guard. Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rome is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rome has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Silva backs away looking to recover. Silva has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rome, as that shot connected.

Rome throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Silva seems to have recovered his senses. Rome moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Rome lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rome. Rome throws a nice looking combination but Silva bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Spartacus Rome is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rome throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Silva on the side of the head. Rome is looking to chop away at Silva's legs. Silva moves forwards but Rome connects with a nice, crisp jab. Rome listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Rome scores with a three punch combo!

And that's the end of the fight! Spartacus Rome showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rome, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
