Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Shimada (ranked 4254 p4p, 4161 weight class) and Andy Kent (ranked 360 p4p, 352 weight class). Andy Kent has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Andy Kent!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shimada tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kent manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kent wants to counter with a clinch but Shimada pushes him away.
Kent uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kent keeps the fight on the outside.
Yuki Shimada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shimada closes the distance looking to clinch
and Kent counters with a nice body shot.

Shimada manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Kent is pushing down on Shimada's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shimada is fighting to maintain full guard but Kent has managed to sneak the leg through.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that Yuki Shimada will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Yuki Shimada.
