Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Chong Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Freaky Igor!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Topper Green.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chong Jr dives in and scores a takedown into Igor's guard.
Igor is adopting a defensive guard.
Chong Jr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Chong Jr trying to control but Igor is working from the bottom.
Igor wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chong Jr drops back looking for a leg! Igor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Igor manages to kick Chong Jr off! Chong Jr jumps back into Igor's guard.

Igor might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Chong Jr ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Igor moves away.

Igor connects with a good right hand that stumbles Chong Jr. Chong Jr circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Chong Jr shoots in for a double leg but Igor sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Igor is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Chong Jr had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Chong Jr is defended easily by Igor.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Freaky Igor dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Good standup being displayed there by Igor as he connects with a hook.

Igor throws an overhand right that lands on Chong Jr's shoulder, as Chong Jr tries to avoid the shot.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Igor. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Igor uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chong Jr.
Chong Jr throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Igor was covering up waiting for the punch and Chong Jr finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Chong Jr is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Igor is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Chong Jr passes Igor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Igor has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
