Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Baron Welch (ranked 3581 p4p, 2943 weight class) and Jackson Parks (ranked 311 p4p, 265 weight class). Welch comes to the cage accompanied by Red Light. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Baron Welch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Jackson Parks!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Welch closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Welch lands in his opponent's guard.
Welch wants to control from the top but Parks keeps moving.
Welch controls from within his opponent's guard.
Welch scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Welch working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Welch forces his way into half guard.
Welch working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Welch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Parks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Welch has managed to get both his arms back between Parks's legs - danger averted.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Welch connects with a nice short shot to Parks's temple.

Parks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Welch doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Parks is tightening it up a little... Welch has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Welch reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Welch taps out! Nice BJJ there by Parks!
