The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.
Bravo throws a jab but it's blocked by Montes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bravo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Montes.
Bravo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Montes looks to land a left hand but Bravo moved out of range nicely.

Bravo wants to pass the guard but Montes is keeping the position.

Montes has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bravo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Montes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bravo is tightening it up a little... Montes has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
