Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Hide (ranked 3400 p4p, 3896 weight class) and Sheldon Hammer (ranked 128 p4p, 204 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gregory Hide!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sheldon Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer tries to clinch up but Hide circles away and keeps his distance.
Hide looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hammer shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
An attempted straight right counter from Hide misses the target.
Hammer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hide finds it's way round the side to connect with Hammer's head.
Hide dodges the punch combination from Hammer.
Hammer fails with a takedown attempt.
Hammer tries to clinch
and Hide counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hide keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Hide bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hide uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hide lands with a nice combination. Hammer backs away looking to recover.
Hammer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hide.
Hide throws a series of strikes that have Hammer backpedaling.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hammer shoots in and drives through. Hide sprawls well.

As Hide backs off Hammer throws a huge counter combo but Hide manages to avoid it all.

Hide is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hammer can do to turn this around?

The crowd cheers as Hide lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hammer doesn't seem phased though.

Hammer's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hide connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hammer scrambles back to his feet.

Hammer tries to clinch up but Hide circles away and keeps his distance.

Hide takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Hammer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hide throws a big counter combination but Hammer scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Hammer dives in and grabs Hide's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hide pushes down on Hammer's head and hops out.
It looked like Hide was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Hammer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hide defends it nicely.
Hide slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Hammer is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hide is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Hammer.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hide, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
