Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Asher (ranked 4575 p4p, 5581 weight class) and Liam Weaver (ranked 213 p4p, 207 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cole Asher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Liam Weaver!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Weaver's jab looks to have found its range, popping Asher under the eye.
Weaver has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Asher takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Asher drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Weaver throws a hook to the side of Asher's head but Asher sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Weaver looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Asher seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Weaver throws an overhand right that lands on Asher's shoulder, as Asher tries to avoid the shot.

Weaver might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Asher has been working on his balance at Xtreme Fighting Gym, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Weaver.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Asher might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Weaver has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Asher off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Asher with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Weaver to score with a decent uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Asher counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Weaver has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Asher throwing shots but Weaver is blocking nicely.
Asher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Asher throws an elbow that misses. Weaver uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Asher's guard. Nice move by Weaver!

Asher has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Asher escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Weaver gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Asher wants to get back to full guard but Weaver has mounted him!
Asher is desperately trying to improve his position but Weaver has a good base and remains in mount.
Weaver wants to control the pace but Asher is squirming around nicely.

Weaver can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Asher is looking to escape.
Asher is wriggling around trying to escape.

Weaver prevents Asher from improving his position.

Cole Asher has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Liam Weaver is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Weaver wants to lay and pray for a moment but Asher keeps working.

I would just about give that final round to Liam Weaver.
Well Weaver has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
