Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 122 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mmm Mmm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hiroshi Gomi!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi cracks Mmm with an open hand slap.
Gomi takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Mmm shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gomi pinned against the cage. Gomi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gomi is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Mmm closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Mmm doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A jab from Gomi finds it's way through Mmm's defenses.
Mmm takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gomi shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mmm eats them both and turns towards Gomi to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Mmm is rocked!
Gomi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mmm looks up at the clock. Bad move! Gomi lands a right hand from hell, dropping Mmm. Gomi pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hiroshi Gomi!
During a confident post fight interview, Hiroshi Gomi thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
