Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bob Smith! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie swinging wilding here.
Gracie fails with the takedown. Smith moves out of range of the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergio Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Smith, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Smith against the cage but Smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad. Gracie fails to land the takedown. Gracie tries to clinch but Smith is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith wants to sweep here but Gracie controlling him for the moment. Smith is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Smith connects with a nice short shot to Gracie's temple. Gracie is breathing heavily. Gracie regains full guard. Nicely done. Smith keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head. Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Gracie wants to sweep here but Smith controlling him for the moment. Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Gracie keeping moving, preventing Smith from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith landing with the ground and pound. Smith throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gracie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard. Smith throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Smith striking from the bottom here. Smith wants to sweep but no luck. Gracie lands a couple of digs. Smith throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Smith looking for a sweep. Not yet Smith, not yet. Gracie stands and throws Smith's legs to the side, diving into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Smith is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control. Smith is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Gracie's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sergio Gracie will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Smith drives through with a takedown into guard. Smith pushing down on Gracie's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Smith landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Smith drops an elbow to the side of Gracie's head. Smith scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Gracie has hold of Smith's hands but Smith slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
It looks like Sergio Gracie has been cut. Smith is controlling the pace.
Smith has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie can't escape the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Gracie is trying to escape the mount.
Smith is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gracie can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gracie tries to reverse the position but Smith maintains control. Smith is landing with some decent strikes but Gracie is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Smith has eaten all the pies! The referee warns Gracie that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Smith lands a big shot there that rocks Gracie but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Gracie is rocked! Smith lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Gracie hang on? Oh Gracie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Gracie is working to get back to half guard.
Gracie seems to have got his legs back now. Gracie throwing hammer fists to the chest of Smith. What's that going to do exactly? Gracie gets back to half guard. Gracie is trying to stand back up but Smith is controlling him

That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Smith! Smith keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Smith has left one of his arms exposed and Gracie doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Smith screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sergio Gracie!
