Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Striking (ranked 2016 p4p, 2832 weight class) and Lieutenant Data (ranked 198 p4p, 267 weight class). Sergio Striking has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergio Striking!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lieutenant Data!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Data moves into the clinch.
Data jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Striking walks away with a smile on his face. Data gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Data throws out a loose jab but Striking uses good head movement to avoid it.
Striking takes a swing at Data's ribcage but misses.
Data looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Striking scores with a jab to the jaw.
Striking misses with an uppercut. Data saw that one coming.

Data moves into the clinch.

Striking breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Data ducks under a wild hook from Striking.
Data slips under a jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Data has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Striking cracks Data with a good jab.
A left and a right from Striking both land. Nice combination.
Data takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Striking uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Data.
Striking thows a left - swing and a miss!
Data changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Striking knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Data on the ground.

Data seems to be looking for submissions.

Striking has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Data is on him like a limpet, forcing Striking back against the cage.

Striking manages to break the clinch.
A big right from Striking misses.
Striking definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Data lands a glancing blow to the side of Striking's head.
Sergio Striking seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Data keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Data counters with a nice double leg into side control. Striking won't be happy with that.
Striking is trying to buck Data off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Data has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Data can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Striking is looking to escape.
Data won't let Striking get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Data postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Striking bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Data and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lieutenant Data!
Lieutenant Data decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
