PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Tseung (ranked 4313 p4p, 4961 weight class) and Edgar Kidd (ranked 459 p4p, 492 weight class). Tseung comes to the cage accompanied by Kacey Talk - NBA Youngboy. Shinji Tseung has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Tseung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Edgar Kidd!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tseung misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kidd stuffs the takedown attempt from Tseung. Tseung gets slowly back to his feet.
Tseung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kidd pinned against the cage. Kidd gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kidd lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinji Tseung. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kidd with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kidd looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A nice leg kick from Kidd, right into the meat of the thigh.
Tseung tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kidd swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tseung gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kidd counters with a three punch combo that has Tseung backing up. Tseung nods at Kidd to acknowledge the strikes.

Kidd misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A combination from Tseung does no damage.
Tseung walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kidd stuffs the takedown.
Tseung tries to clinch
and Kidd counters with a stiff right hand.
Kidd swats away the attempt to clinch by Tseung.
Kidd fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tseung throws a big counter combination but Kidd scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
A swing and a miss from Kidd.
Kidd fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tseung.

Tseung tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kidd swivels and escapes.
Tseung tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kidd only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Kidd stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kidd wants it to stay on the feet.
Tseung is breathing heavily.
No joy there for Kidd, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tseung changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Kidd looks to score with a jab to the body but Tseung is just out of range.
Tseung wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Kidd scores with a shot to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tseung dives in for a single leg takedown but Kidd sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Tseung tries to pull guard but Kidd won't allow it.
Tseung has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kidd avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kidd pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Nice combo by Kidd! Oh, that's hurt him - Tseung falls to the canvas and Kidd follows him into side control.

Sloppy strikes there by Kidd.

Kidd decides to stand back up. Kidd steps back and let's Tseung get back to his feet.

Kidd drops Tseung with a left right combo! Kidd follows him down to the ground into side control.

Tseung is rocked!
The referee asks Kidd politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Kidd prefers to stall for the moment though.
Oh Tseung is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tseung wants to control but Kidd postures up.

Kidd stands up and beckons Tseung to his feet.
Tseung seems to have got his legs back now.
Shinji Tseung seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tseung on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good standup being displayed there by Kidd as he connects with a hook.
Tseung gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Kidd throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Edgar Kidd is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kidd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tseung.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kidd, as that shot connected.
Kidd lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tseung circles away quickly and effectively.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kidd - that will leave a mark!
A low kick lands for Kidd.
Kidd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Tseung.
Kidd blocks a head kick by Tseung.
Kidd scoring well with a low kick there.
Kidd connects with a looping right hand.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Edgar Kidd dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

Kidd defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tseung.
Kidd lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Kidd misses with a series of wild punches.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kidd lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tseung has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tseung and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Tseung shoots in for a takedown but Kidd shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kidd scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Kidd throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Tseung decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kidd's guard.

Kidd has his feet on Tseung's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tseung throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kidd's waist but Kidd gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tseung off to one side.

Tseung shoots in looking for a takedown. Kidd tries to sprawl out of it but Tseung keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kidd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kidd throws a left that rocks Tseung and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kidd dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Tseung regain composure!
The strikes coming from Kidd are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Tseung gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tseung wants to control but Kidd is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Kidd stalling.
Edgar Kidd has got the better of the ground game so far.
Tseung trying to control but Kidd postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Tseung connecting with a few gentle strikes.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kidd pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kidd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Tseung tries to land a front kick but Kidd steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Horrible takedown attempt by Tseung or perhaps it was just good defense by Kidd, which made it look bad.

Kidd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A low kick lands for Kidd.
Kidd throws a head kick that misses.
Tseung is looking for a counter combo.
Tseung fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kidd throws a body shot but no joy.
Kidd slaps away a takedown attempt from Tseung, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Decent striking displayed by Kidd there.

Kidd throws a looping overhand right but Tseung ducks down to avoid it.
Tseung tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kidd swivels and escapes.
Kidd lands a really nice looking cross but Tseung seems unphased.
Kidd is looking to slow Tseung down with leg kicks.
Tseung has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kidd.
Kidd has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Kidd scores with a one two! Tseung had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Tseung tries to strike but it doesn't land.

Edgar Kidd showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Kidd lands a jab to the head.
Tseung has his takedown stuffed
and Kidd counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
BOOM! Kidd lands a beautiful left hook that drops Tseung. Tseung tries to recover but Kidd is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Tseung lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edgar Kidd!
