Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danko Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryun Sang Min!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with a hook.
A punch combination from Sang Min misses.
Jones was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Jones throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Sang Min counters by moving into the clinch.

Sang Min decides to pull guard.
Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sang Min works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Sang Min had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Jones tries to stand but Sang Min is controlling from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sang Min looking for a sweep. Not yet Sang Min, not yet.

Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Sang Min has wrist control.
Sang Min wants to sweep but no luck.
Jones wants to control from the top but Sang Min keeps moving.
Jones is really struggling to control Sang Min but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sang Min has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sang Min is pressed up against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sang Min down to the mat. Sang Min avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sang Min moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jones misses with a takedown
and Sang Min counters with a three punch combo that has Jones backing up. Jones nods at Sang Min to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danko Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sang Min slips a jab and a cross from Jones.

Sang Min looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jones has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sang Min preventing the sweep.
Sang Min keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.
Sang Min stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sang Min gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones throws a good cross that connects.

Sang Min closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jones seems a little lost for a moment, as Sang Min dominates the positioning.
Jones trying his best to control but Sang Min has mounted him.
Sang Min content just to control the position here.
Jones looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Jones tries to lock up and control but Sang Min gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sang Min moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Jones has worked his arm free - good work by Jones!
Sang Min lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.
Sang Min just content to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jones wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Jones can't do much from the bottom here.
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sang Min wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Sang Min is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jones is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Jones is trying to work for a sweep but Sang Min has mounted him!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ryun Sang Min dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sang Min closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Jones swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sang Min closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Sang Min pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jones attempts a counter takedown but Sang Min avoids it well and moves away.
Danko Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sang Min moves into the clinch.
Jones is trying to break the clinch but Sang Min has him pressed against the cage.
Jones drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Sang Min breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sang Min was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Sang Min tries to counter with a clinch but Jones shakes him off and moves away.
Ryun Sang Min seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sang Min shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Danko Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryun Sang Min.

Jones stuffs the takedown attempt from Sang Min. Sang Min gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones misses with a wild body shot.
Sang Min tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones blocks a head kick by Sang Min.
Sang Min moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

It looks like Ryun Sang Min has been cut.
Sang Min is breathing heavily.
Sang Min takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sang Min checks a leg kick.
Sang Min steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Jones.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
Jones swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Jones swings for the body but Sang Min moves out of range.
Jones lands with a cross.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones misses with a body kick.
Sang Min changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Sang Min fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A quick step to the side and Jones tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones swings for the body but Sang Min moves out of range.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sang Min.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Sang Min slips the punch.
Sang Min tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jones throws a series of punches but Sang Min avoids them all with ease.

Sang Min has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sang Min successfully pulls guard.

Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sang Min, up you get!

Jones throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sang Min is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Jones throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Sang Min counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones looks like he's trying to stand up.
Sang Min seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sang Min is working for a kimura but Jones is defending it quite comfortably.
Sang Min sitting and controlling from the half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jones is trying to stand back up but Sang Min is controlling him
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Danko Jones dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Ryun Sang Min's cut.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Sang Min.
Nice takedown defense from Jones. No joy for Sang Min on that attempt.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sang Min moves away.

Sang Min closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones did well to prevent Sang Min getting side control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sang Min connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.

Sang Min is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sang Min to get the leverage.
Sang Min content to control rather than advance.
Sang Min prevents Jones from improving his position.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Jones on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Jones is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Sang Min is tapping! Great win for Jones!
