Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mitch Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taylor has chosen Body Head Anthem as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Andre Taylor is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mitch Drake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Andre Taylor! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taylor scores with a takedown into Drake's guard. Taylor scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Taylor thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Taylor is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Taylor trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Drake looking to hit a scissor sweep but Taylor is one step ahead there. Taylor trying to stand up but can't free himself from Drake's guard. Drake controls Taylor momentarily but Taylor frees himself. Taylor postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Taylor drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Drake dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Taylor looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Drake passes into side control.
Taylor looks gassed! Drake working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drake is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Taylor is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Taylor is looking for a sweep. Taylor is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Drake is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Drake manages to capitalize on a mistake by Taylor to take his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Taylor is trying to break free.
Drake throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Drake is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Drake looking for the choke but no joy. Taylor has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Taylor holding both Drake 's hands and preventing any damage. Drake connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Taylor to escape the position.
Taylor breaks Drake's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor shoots in looking for a takedown. Drake tries to sprawl out of it but Taylor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Drake manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Taylor fails to land with a series of punches.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Taylor misses with a hook. Drake ducked under it nicely. Drake fails in his attempt to clinch. Drake displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Taylor. Andre Taylor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice takedown defense from Drake. No joy for Taylor on that attempt. Drake tries to close the distance and clinch but Taylor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Horrible takedown by Taylor or perhaps it was just good defense by Drake which made him look bad. Taylor swats away the attempt to clinch by Drake. The fight stays on the outside here - Drake looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Taylor looks for a takedown but Drake sprawls well. Taylor throws a hook but Drake blocks it. Drake tries to score a power double leg takedown but Taylor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Drake somewhat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taylor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Drake is fending him off so far but Taylor persists. Nope, Drake circles away and we're back to standing. Drake tries to close the distance and clinch but Taylor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Donk. Taylor catches Drake right on the button with a cross. Drake tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Taylor tries to clinch up. Drake misses with a straight right. Taylor fails to land the takedown. Mitch Drake is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Drake ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Taylor doesn't succeed with the takedown and Drake counters by clinching up. Mitch Drake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andre Taylor. Drake lands a shot to the body. Taylor is breathing heavily. A head punch blocked on the inside by Taylor. Drake looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Taylor breaks the clinch.

Drake has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Taylor is working away from the top position though. Taylor prevents Drake from standing back up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Taylor connects with a nice short shot to Drake's temple. Drake wants to control but Taylor is keeping busy and won't allow it. Drake wants to get back to his feet. Drake blocking the ground and pound attempt from Taylor. Taylor missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Drake is doing well to control the position and prevent Taylor from advancing to side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Taylor shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Drake as he jumps to the side. Drake moves into the clinch successfully.
Taylor keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Drake's efforts to push away. Drake is looking to break free of the clinch but Taylor has double underhooks. Drake breaks from the clinch.
Taylor is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Drake's half guard. Taylor prevents Drake from improving his position. Taylor throwing shots but Drake is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taylor missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Drake is looking for a sweep. Taylor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Drake trying to control from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Drake throws a head kick that misses. Drake misses with a head kick.

A frustrated look appears on Taylor's face as he tries to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Drake using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Taylor has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Drake is trying to break the clinch but Taylor has him pressed against the cage. Drake misses with a knee strike.
Drake lands a damaging elbow. Drake is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Taylor is defending well for now. Drake wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Taylor breaks the clinch.
Taylor fails to land the takedown. Taylor throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Taylor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Drake is fending him off so far but Taylor persists. Nope, Drake circles away and we're back to standing. Drake throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

A close second round but Andre Taylor will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Drake tries to clinch up. Nice takedown defense from Drake. No joy for Taylor on that attempt. Taylor goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Taylor shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Drake manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Taylor distracts Drake with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Drake lands some strikes from the bottom. Drake working for a triangle but Taylor defends it easily.
Drake is looking to stand up but Taylor isn't so interested in that idea. Taylor slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Taylor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Taylor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Drake, who protects the arm well. Taylor swings around for an armbar but Drake sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Taylor's guard. Drake trying to control the position from guard on top but Taylor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Drake controls from within his opponent's guard. Drake postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Taylor looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Taylor is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Drake passes into half guard. Drake wants to stand but Taylor has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Taylor is looking to improve his position.
