This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 14 losses; Toyotomi Ieyasu! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Ieyasu looking to score a takedown here. Corona is defending well but Ieyasu drives through and ends up in Corona's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Corona (0) vs (2) Ieyasu Ieyasu trying to control but Corona is working from the bottom. Corona looking for a guillotine here but Ieyasu defends easily.
Ieyasu wants to pass the guard but Corona is keeping the position. Corona controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ieyasu stopping the sweep attempt from Corona. Ieyasu slips nicely into half guard. Corona slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Corona wants to get back to full guard. Ieyasu looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ieyasu with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Ieyasu is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Corona sees it coming and defends easily. Corona is looking to control Ieyasu's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Corona avoid being mounted? Ieyasu tries to pass to full mount but Corona defends it. Ieyasu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Corona does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Corona tries to lock up and control but Ieyasu gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ieyasu working for a submission but Corona is keeping him at bay. Ieyasu has hold of Corona's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Corona manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Corona manages to regain half guard. Good work. Corona gets back to full guard.
Ieyasu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Corona swivels though and keeps the full guard. Corona is trying to keep Ieyasu in close.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Ieyasu wants to control from the top but Corona keeps moving. Ieyasu wants to pass the guard but Corona is keeping the position. Corona has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ieyasu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ieyasu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Corona looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Corona looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control!
