Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shamil Akhmedovich (ranked 3813 p4p, 4930 weight class) and Storm Father (ranked 354 p4p, 0 weight class). Shamil Akhmedovich has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shamil Akhmedovich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Storm Father!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Father tries to clinch but Akhmedovich moves away

and Akhmedovich counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Father tries to kick Akhmedovich off but Akhmedovich keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Akhmedovich will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Father won't allow Akhmedovich to pass to mount.
Akhmedovich not doing much here.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Akhmedovich connects with a nice short shot to Father's temple.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Father on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Akhmedovich lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Father misses with an uppercut. Akhmedovich saw that one coming.
Akhmedovich swings for the body but Father moves out of range.
Father wants to counter the offense by Akhmedovich and move into the clinch position.

Akhmedovich shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Father is looking to get back to is feet but Akhmedovich passes into side control.

Father wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Akhmedovich knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Father on the ground.

Father tries to clinch there but Akhmedovich circles away.

Father doesn't manage to clinch there - Akhmedovich circles away.

Akhmedovich throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Akhmedovich tries to pass to full mount but Father defends it.

Akhmedovich shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Father sprawls well. Father wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Akhmedovich gets slowly back to his feet.

Akhmedovich throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Father's waist but Father gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Akhmedovich off to one side.

Akhmedovich tries to score a power double leg takedown but Father sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Akhmedovich somewhat.

Akhmedovich avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Akhmedovich throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Father fails with an attempt to clinch.
Akhmedovich shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Father as he jumps to the side.
Father tries to clinch up but Akhmedovich circles away and keeps his distance.
Father connects with a good right hand that stumbles Akhmedovich. Akhmedovich circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Father lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Father doesn't manage to clinch there - Akhmedovich circles away.

Akhmedovich closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Akhmedovich seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

It looked like Akhmedovich was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Storm Father seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Father wants to clinch.

Father gets caught napping as Akhmedovich dives in and scores a takedown. Father manages to retain guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Shamil Akhmedovich will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Akhmedovich looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Father is looking to stand up but Akhmedovich isn't so interested in that idea.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Storm Father has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Akhmedovich, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
