Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eroc Son!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Santos!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Santos.
Son is looking to clinch.

Son has taken the fight to the clinch.

Son gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Santos has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Santos has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Son feints and as Santos raises his hands in defense, Son changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Santos is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Santos wants to sweep but no luck.

Santos looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Santos is continuing to stall.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Son stays in close to Santos's body and controls the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Son has managed to clinch.
Santos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Son is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Santos has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Son avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Son is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Santos is defending well for now.

Son gets control of Santos's arms and successfully pulls guard. Son will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Santos drops back looking for a leg! Son is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Son manages to kick Santos off! Santos jumps back into Son's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Son's guard.

Santos is working for a kimura but Son is defending it quite comfortably.
Son is looking to improve his position.

Santos is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Son defends it well.
Son trying to control here.

Santos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Santos maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Son could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Santos has cracked it and Son is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Santos!

Ricky Santos was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
