The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powe manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Iwao on his heels. He'll look to pass Iwao's guard now, I'm sure.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Powe with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Iwao can do anything to dispel that myth.

Powe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Iwao escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Powe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Iwao is defended easily by Powe.

Powe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Iwao did well to prevent Powe getting side control.

Powe loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Iwao scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Powe land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Powe stands and salutes the crowd.
