Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Don (ranked 3527 p4p, 4066 weight class) and Mark Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Edwards will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Michael Don!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Don checks a leg kick nicely.
Don shoots in and drives through. Edwards sprawls well.

Edwards fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Don, pushing him back against the cage.
Don wants a takedown.
Edwards is looking to break free of the clinch but Don has double underhooks.
Don is struggling to control the position.
Don jumps guard but Edwards stands there with Don around his waist. Don gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Don. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Edwards ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Edwards no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Don has Edwards pressed against the cage, preventing Edwards from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Edwards jumps guard but Don turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Edwards has Don pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Don manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Edwards wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Don has him pressed against the cage.
Edwards is trying to drag Don to the mat but Don just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Don throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Edwards blocks it with crossed arms.

Edwards pulls guard successfully.
Don lands a couple of elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Don wants to stand but Edwards is controlling his posture from full guard.
Edwards trying to keep a closed guard but Don is proving a slippery customer.
Don in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Edwards looking for a sweep. Not yet Edwards, not yet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Edwards is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Edwards looking to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Edwards throws a body punch but Don moves out of range.
Edwards scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Nice takedown defense from Don. No joy for Edwards on that attempt.
As Edwards looks to move away, Don throws a big counter combo but Edwards just gets out of the way.
Don closes this distance looking for a takedown but Edwards circles away.
Don is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Horrible takedown attempt by Edwards or perhaps it was just good defense by Don, which made it look bad.

Edwards walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Don checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Don.

Don throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Edwards misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Don stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Don wants it to stay on the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Don looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Edwards clinches up with Don and pushes him back against the cage.
Edwards is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Don pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Edwards jumps guard but Don stands there with Edwards around his waist. Edwards gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Don will probably get the nod.

Don stuffs the takedown.

and Edwards counters with a nice body shot.
Edwards will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Edwards moves into the clinch successfully.

Edwards is trying to break free.

Don breaks from the clinch.
Don throws a nice looking combination but Edwards bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Edwards closes the distance and pushes Don back into the cage.
Don goes for a takedown attempt but Edwards pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Michael Don is winning the standup battle so far.
Edwards tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Don defends well and Edwards ends up having to push Don into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Don tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Edwards manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Edwards looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Edwards closes the distance and clinches.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Edwards.

Edwards gets control of Don's arms and successfully pulls guard. Edwards will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Edwards looking to hit a scissor sweep but Don is one step ahead there.

Don postures up.

Don stands up and waves to Edwards to follow him.

Edwards shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Don pushes Edwards off and gets back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Don showed his dominance in that final round.
I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
