Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Choke (ranked 734 p4p, 506 weight class) and Sparring John (ranked 95 p4p, 64 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 22 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sparring John!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choke is looking to clinch.
John misses with a series of wild punches.
Choke changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
John cracks Choke with a good jab.

Choke looking to score a takedown here. John is defending well but Choke drives through and ends up in John's guard.
Choke throwing strikes from guard but John blocks nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Choke pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. John is keeping the position for now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Choke accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

John pushes Choke off looking to stand but Choke dives back in and keeps control.
John wants to control but Choke is keeping busy.

John is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
John is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Choke scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
John wants to improve his position but Choke is controlling well.

Choke landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Choke seems to be looking for submissions.
Choke throwing shots but John is blocking nicely.
Choke prevents John from improving his position.
John is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
John is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Choke's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Choke's back!
Choke breaks John's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Choke drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but John manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Choke has John in his guard.


Choke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
John controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Choke has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Let's hope that John has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

John got a little sloppy there for a moment and Choke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, John has managed to get both his arms back between Choke's legs - danger averted.
John wants to stand but Choke has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

John's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Choke escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. John gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

John rushes Choke and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Choke drops down looking for an ankle pick but John pulls his leg out and moves away.

John throws an overhand right that lands on Choke's shoulder, as Choke tries to avoid the shot.

Choke is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but John is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Choke swings around for an armbar but John sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Choke's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
John wants to control from the top but Choke keeps moving.

John slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
David Choke overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

John is looking to take a break and control but Choke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee asks John politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. John prefers to stall for the moment though.

John is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Choke is staying active underneath John, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

John wants to take a breather but Choke is having none of it.
John seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Sparring John showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

John throws a body shot but no joy.
Choke is looking to counter the offense by John and move into the clinch.
A punch lands to the side of Choke 's head but he takes it in his stride.
John misses the shot to the body.
John has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
John has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

John gets a clinch.
John prevents a takedown attempt there.
John is pressed up against the cage. Choke has hold of a leg and is looking to drag John down to the mat. John avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

John is in a horrible position here. Choke smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
John avoids a series of strikes thrown by Choke.

John tries to lock up and control but Choke gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Choke lands a heavy elbow.
Choke pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Choke cracks John with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Choke with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
