Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Waddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and anderson silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that William Waddell has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily William Waddell seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Waddell as he avoids it easily.
Horrible takedown by silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Waddell which made him look bad.
Nice sprawl there from Waddell as silva shoots in.
William Waddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of anderson silva.
silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
silva lands a high kick!
silva misses with a takedown attempt - Waddell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

silva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Waddell gets the underhooks and prevents it.

silva fails to pull the fight into his guard.
silva is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
silva wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

silva has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Waddell avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Waddell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but silva paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Waddell tries to clinch but silva is having none of it.
silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Waddell.

and Waddell counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Waddell.
Waddell lands a knee to the body.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Waddell counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
silva tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Waddell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
anderson silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waddell moves out of range as silva throws a body kick.
Waddell gets a takedown into half guard.
Waddell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Waddell is trying to work for a kimura but silva is defending well.
Waddell is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed silva to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Waddell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. silva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
silva controls Waddell momentarily but Waddell frees himself.
silva has Waddell pulled in close to control his posture.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
silva uses the cage to get back to his feet.
silva tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Waddell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in silva's guard.
silva pushes Waddell off and scrambles back to his feet.
silva looks to clinch
and Waddell counters with a nice double leg into side control. silva won't be happy with that.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
silva is pushing Waddell's head away, looking to escape. Waddell manages to hold on to the position though.
