Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, EL Chapo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Urian Brlacher!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

It looks like Urian Brlacher has been cut.
Brlacher looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Chapo throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Brlacher counters with a takedown into side control.
Brlacher prevents Chapo from escaping the position.
Brlacher staying calm.
Brlacher trying to control the action but Chapo is working from the bottom.
Chapo's coaches at Sydney Top Team have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
A lull in the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Chapo bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Chapo bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Brlacher tries to clinch up.
Chapo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The fighters circling - Chapo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Chapo misses with a hook

so Brlacher counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Chapo looking for a sweep. Not yet Chapo, not yet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brlacher controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Brlacher pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Chapo is keeping the position for now.
Brlacher controlling from the top position.
Brlacher trying to control the position from guard on top but Chapo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chapo wants to get back to his feet but Brlacher is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Chapo is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Brlacher presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Chapo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Chapo throws a sloppy head kick and Brlacher moves out of range easily.
Brlacher steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Chapo.
Brlacher closes this distance looking for a takedown but Chapo circles away.
Brlacher tries to clinch up
and Chapo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Chapo loads up on a big right hand but Brlacher slips the punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brlacher wants to clinch up but Chapo keeps it at a distance.
Brlacher moves out of range of the strikes.
Chapo lands a jab.

That has opened up Urian Brlacher's cut even more.
Brlacher fails with the takedown.
EL Chapo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Decent striking displayed by Chapo there.
EL Chapo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brlacher on the wrong end of a nice hook.
BOOM! Chapo lands a beautiful left hook that drops Brlacher. Brlacher tries to recover but Chapo is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Brlacher lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). EL Chapo!
