Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luke Smith (ranked 728 p4p, 997 weight class) and Mick Taylor (ranked 78 p4p, 102 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luke Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Mick Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Taylor now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Smith jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Taylor defending well as Smith loads up on a big left hand.
Taylor throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Taylor off to one side.
Smith throws a nice head kick!
Taylor bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Taylor swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Smith lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Smith misses with a straight right.
Taylor now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taylor throws out a powerful jab.

and Taylor counters with a single leg into guard. Smith didn't expect that.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Taylor is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Smith wants to sweep here but Taylor controlling him for the moment.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Taylor moves away.
Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Let's hope that Taylor has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Luke Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close second round but I would say that Luke Smith will probably get the nod.

Taylor is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Smith pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Taylor drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smith pulls his leg out and moves away.
Luke Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Taylor.
Smith throws a hook but Taylor avoids it easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Luke Smith showed his dominance in that final round.
