Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wesley Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojas goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Rojas works the jab nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rojas. Thompson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thompson moves out of range of the body kick.
Rojas fails to land with a series of punches.

Thompson looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rojas as he avoids it easily.
Thompson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Thompson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rojas throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Thompson fails with the takedown
and Rojas counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Rojas scores with a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd cheers as Rojas lands an impressive looking overhand right. Thompson doesn't seem phased though.
Rojas is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Thompson shoots and misses
and Rojas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rojas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Thompson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rojas is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Rojas is breathing heavily.

so Thompson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Thompson controls from within his opponent's guard.

Rojas wants to hit a sweep here but Thompson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Rojas there!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Thompson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Thompson working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rojas turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Thompson off and cradles Rojas's limp body as Thompson celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Wesley Thompson!
