The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Valerio comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Valerio has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Valerio is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kula rather than just go for the knockout.

Valerio fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kula manages to avoid it.

Kula goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Valerio looks to score with a jab to the body but Kula is just out of range.

Kula moves in looking to clinch but Valerio pushes him off.
Kula takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Valerio cracks Kula with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Kula throws a head kick that misses.
A little jabbing left from Valerio on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kula keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Valerio thuds a left hand into Kula's body.
Valerio changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Kula takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Kula doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Valerio throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Valerio scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Valerio uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kula.

Kula swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Valerio throws a nice looking combination but Kula bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Kula wants to clinch
and Kula takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Valerio just misses with a punch to the body.
Kula takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Valerio bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Valerio is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kula had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Valerio tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kula was well out of range. Poor timing from Valerio.
Good exchange - Valerio coming out on top.
Kula walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Valerio throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kula sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Good standup being displayed there by Valerio as he connects with a hook.
Kula is rocked!
Kula gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Valerio gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Kula is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ernesto Valerio!
