Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronan Harvey (ranked 2942 p4p, 2098 weight class) and Rick Ness (ranked 369 p4p, 272 weight class). Ness has chosen Cocaine as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Ness!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harvey shoots in looking for a takedown. Ness tries to sprawl out of it but Harvey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ness manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Ness feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've been hearing good reports from Harvey's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Harvey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Harvey wants it to stay on the feet.
Rick Ness seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ness leaves Harvey with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Nice takedown defense from Ness. No joy for Harvey on that attempt.

Harvey closes the distance and clinches up with Ness, looking for a takedown. Harvey pushes Ness against the cage but Ness circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Harvey is not content to let Ness control the position.

Ness frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ness postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Harvey looks a forlorn figure.
Ness takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee warns Harvey that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ness lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Harvey is rocked!
Ness postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Harvey in real trouble here! The ref calls for Harvey to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rick Ness!
After winning the bout, Rick Ness thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
