Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Grant (ranked 3439 p4p, 3436 weight class) and James Hopkins (ranked 377 p4p, 376 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Grant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, James Hopkins! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hopkins misses with the combination.
Hopkins swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
It looked like Grant wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Grant looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Grant just misses with a punch to the body.
Hopkins appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Grant lands a nice hook to Hopkins's body. Hopkins takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Hopkins scores with a crisp jab that stopped Grant in his tracks. That kick from Grant tenderised Hopkins's leg. Hopkins is trying to keep his angry face on. Grant throws a big shot that misses. Grant misses with a straight left. Hopkins throws a counter combo. Hopkins dodges the punch combination from Grant.

Grant fails to land with a series of punches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hopkins scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Grant doesn't seem bothered though. Grant fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hopkins manages to avoid it. Grant is breathing heavily. Grant avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Grant ducks right into an uppercut from Hopkins. Grant showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hopkins.
Hopkins throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Hopkins takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Daniel Grant has been cut. Grant has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Hopkins lands a left and a right that send Grant crashing to the mat, dazed. Hopkins thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Grant is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Hopkins misses with a double jab.
Hopkins lands with a big right hook that stumbles Grant - he's out on his feet here! Hopkins follows up with another monster hook that separates Grant from consciousness! Grant falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Hopkins stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). James Hopkins!
