The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paita closes the distance and clinches up with Dukes, looking for a takedown. Paita pushes Dukes against the cage but Dukes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Dukes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Paita slips a straight right by Dukes.

Paita looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Paita bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Dukes's head.
Dukes is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Paita uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dukes.
Paita shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dukes as he jumps to the side.

Paita throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dukes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Paita fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dukes avoids it really well and circles away.
Dukes drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Paita defends it well.

A quick step to the side and Paita tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dukes might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

It looked like Paita was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Dukes.

Leroy Dukes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Paita is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Paita shoots in for a takedown but Dukes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Dukes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

It looks like Leroy Dukes has been cut.
Dukes throws a lazy right hand but Paita sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Dukes lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dukes throws a jab but it's blocked by Paita.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dukes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Paita circles away quickly and effectively.
Dukes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Dukes throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Paita on the side of the head.
Dukes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Paita with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Dukes tries to bum rush Paita with a series of wild strikes but Paita uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Paita lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Paita fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Dukes on the side of the head.

and Paita counters with a crisp one two that drops Dukes! Paita thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dukes to his feet! Dukes is in big trouble!

and Paita counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks Dukes badly! He tries to strike back but Paita puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks Dukes out cold! Oh man, Dukes will never hear the end of this one!
