PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Demyan Pulaski (ranked 2363 p4p, 1823 weight class) and Lewis Rocha (ranked 272 p4p, 213 weight class). Pulaski comes to the cage accompanied by Dan Farber - "Don't Touch". These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Demyan Pulaski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lewis Rocha!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocha throws a hook to the side of Pulaski's head but Pulaski sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rocha swats away the attempt to clinch by Pulaski.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rocha. That's going to slow Pulaski down.
Rocha fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Both fighters circling a little - Rocha finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Pulaski darts in and clinches Rocha up against the cage.
Pulaski has a couple of punches blocked by Rocha.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pulaski scores with a shoulder strike.
Pulaski misses with a short punch on the inside.
A nice right hand lands inside from Pulaski.
Rocha tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Pulaski pushes Rocha back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Rocha breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rocha misses with a kick to the body.
Rocha throws a sloppy head kick and Pulaski moves out of range easily.
Pulaski is looking to counter the offense by Rocha and move into the clinch.
Rocha misses with a body kick.
Rocha looks to land a right hand but Pulaski moved out of range.
Lewis Rocha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pulaski takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Pulaski tries to clinch up.
Pulaski has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Ironbound MMA in the buildup to the fight.
Rocha misses with a double jab.
It looked like Pulaski wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Rocha tries to land a leg kick but Pulaski saw it coming and moves away.
Pulaski was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Rocha looks to land a left hand but Pulaski moved out of range nicely.
It looked like Pulaski was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Pulaski scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
A left and a right from Rocha both land. Nice combination.
Rocha misses the shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pulaski gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Rocha looks to score with a jab to the body but Pulaski is just out of range.
Pulaski throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pulaski drops Rocha with a beautiful combination! Rocha stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pulaski is looking for the KO!

It looks like Lewis Rocha has been cut.
Rocha throws an off balance right hand
and Pulaski counters with a big right hand! Oh Rocha is in trouble here! Pulaski follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Demyan Pulaski!
An out of breath Demyan Pulaski thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
