Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kareem Ford!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Ford misses with a body shot.
McCarthy tries to counter with a takedown but Ford is quick to defend against it.
McCarthy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ford.
Ford throws the left hand but McCarthy avoids the punch easily.
McCarthy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McCarthy doesn't manage to clinch there - Ford circles away.
McCarthy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ford slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
McCarthy has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ford to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! McCarthy is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ford pulls down on the head and he's put McCarthy to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kareem Ford!
A pretty intense looking Kareem Ford took the opportunity post-fight to ask for a shot at the title.
