The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington scores with a nice right hand.
Shipley throws a lazy right hand but Washington sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shipley throws a shot from downtown. Washington moves away and avoids it.
Shipley lands a nice shot to the body.
Alfred Shipley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shipley throws a poor cross that misses
enabling Washington to counter with a crisp jab.
Shipley misses with an uppercut

and Washington counters with a nice right hand that sends Shipley toppling to the canvas! Shipley scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Washington finish him?!

A slow jab from Shipley misses its intended target.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Washington lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shipley has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shipley and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Washington misses with a looping right.
Shipley seems to have recovered his senses.
Washington definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Washington throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Washington drops his hands momentarily and Shipley takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Washington drops Shipley with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Shipley looks back up at him and smiles so Washington waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Washington counters with a huge left! Shipley is in big trouble! He's backing up but Washington isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Shipley from any more damage. A dominating finish by Washington!

In his post fight interview, Adan Washington started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
