Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nykolai Kersikov (ranked 128 p4p, 469 weight class) and Big Daddy (ranked 14 p4p, 48 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kersikov might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Frequencerz & Da Tweekaz - Full Control. On his way into the cage it seems that Nykolai Kersikov has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nykolai Kersikov seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Nykolai Kersikov! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 12 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Big Daddy! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kersikov connects with a crisp jab. Kersikov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Daddy to the mat! Daddy manages to get full guard. Kersikov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kersikov accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Daddy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Kersikov controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Kersikov's coaches at KFA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Daddy works his way into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daddy thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Daddy landing strikes from the mount and Kersikov is in trouble! Daddy misses with a head shot.

Kersikov sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Kersikov desperately trying to maintain half guard. Kersikov wants to control but Daddy is keeping busy and won't allow it. Daddy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Daddy is trying to work for a kimura but Kersikov is defending well.
Kersikov is looking to control Daddy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kersikov avoid being mounted?

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Daddy working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Kersikov continues to stall. Daddy tries to free his leg and advance position but Kersikov is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Daddy thuds a left hand into Kersikov's body. Daddy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kersikov cracks Daddy with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Daddy jabbing away but nothing is landing. Kersikov tries to counter with a takedown but Daddy is quick to defend against it. Daddy throws a poor cross that misses

and Kersikov counters with a right hand to the body. Kersikov ducks under a wild hook from Daddy. Daddy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kersikov was well out of range. Poor timing from Daddy. Daddy misses with an uppercut
and Daddy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Daddy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kersikov moves away. Daddy misses the shot to the body. Daddy walks into a straight right hand from Kersikov. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Daddy slips under a jab. Daddy drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Kersikov defends it well. Kersikov misses with a body punch
and Daddy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Kersikov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's six minutes gone in the round. Daddy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kersikov's guard. Kersikov is trying to keep Daddy in close.

Daddy postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Kersikov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kersikov is working hard here to advance position.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Daddy controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Daddy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Kersikov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Daddy is fighting to break Kersikov's control of his arms but Kersikov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Kersikov counters with a stiff right hand. Big Daddy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Daddy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Kersikov counters with a nice uppercut. Daddy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kersikov. Kersikov with a body punch. A glancing blow. Daddy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Daddy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kersikov manages to avoid it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Kersikov, as that shot connected.

That was a close round but I would say that Nykolai Kersikov will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Kersikov moves away from the strike by Daddy. Kersikov misses with a left hand so Daddy counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Daddy trying to control but Kersikov is working from the bottom. Kersikov is trying to control the position but Daddy postures up. Kersikov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kersikov is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kersikov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

and Kersikov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Daddy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Horrible takedown attempt by Daddy or perhaps it was just good defense by Kersikov, which made it look bad. It looked like Kersikov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Daddy looks to land a left hand but Kersikov moved out of range nicely. Daddy shoots in for a double leg but Kersikov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kersikov feinted with a counter takedown. Kersikov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Daddy.
Kersikov is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kersikov defending well as Daddy loads up on a big left hand. Daddy throws a poor cross that misses

"I don't think so" says Kersikov as he avoids it easily. Nykolai Kersikov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Daddy. Daddy throws the left hand but Kersikov avoids the punch easily. Daddy takes a swing at Kersikov's ribcage but misses. Kersikov feinted with a counter takedown. Kersikov has his takedown stuffed and Daddy counters with a lovely shot to the body. Daddy shoots and misses and Kersikov counters with a one-two to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Daddy swings widly with a right hand
and Kersikov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Daddy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kersikov. Kersikov thows a left - swing and a miss! Kersikov is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

and Kersikov counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Daddy! Daddy tries to improve position but can't. Daddy is not content to let Kersikov control the position. Daddy is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kersikov off and has taken his back! Kersikov is really stuck here.

Daddy lands a big elbow. Daddy trying to control but Kersikov is having none of it. Daddy lands a nice shot to the head. Daddy with a couple of short strikes. Kersikov is looking to improve his position but Daddy isn't that keen on the idea.

Kersikov is rocked! Daddy landing strikes from the mount. Oh Kersikov is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A big strike lands for Daddy! That's really hurt Kersikov and he's turned his back - Daddy keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Daddy jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 7:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Big Daddy! Big Daddy is the new featherweight champion!
