Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kittisak Khemkhaeng (ranked 880 p4p, 1339 weight class) and Yin Mao (ranked 92 p4p, 143 weight class). Mao is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: HonestKey- Pass. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kittisak Khemkhaeng!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Yin Mao!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mao throws a sloppy head kick
and Khemkhaeng counters with a nice uppercut.
A solid body kick from Mao.
Khemkhaeng moves to clinch but Mao breaks away
and Mao counters with a straight right hand.
Khemkhaeng has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mao.
Mao misses with an uppercut. Khemkhaeng saw that one coming.
It looked like Khemkhaeng wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Mao throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Khemkhaeng gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Mao lands a shot to the body.
I was talking to Khemkhaeng's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Mao pulls guard successfully.
Khemkhaeng is looking to stand up but Mao won't let him.
Khemkhaeng stays in close to Mao's body and controls the position.

Mao had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Khemkhaeng defends it easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Khemkhaeng wants to stand and escape but instead Mao has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Khemkhaeng will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mao up against the cage.

Mao circles away from the clinch attempt
and Mao counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mao ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Mao takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Khemkhaeng fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Khemkhaeng makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mao throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mao misses with a head kick.
Mao thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Khemkhaeng if he has to take too many more of those.

Khemkhaeng throws a hook to the side of Mao's head but Mao sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Khemkhaeng seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mao tries to break free but Khemkhaeng pushes him back against the cage.
Mao tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Khemkhaeng smiles and moves away.
Mao tries a head kick but it misses.

enabling Khemkhaeng to counter with a crisp jab.

Khemkhaeng lands with a thumping leg kick.

Donk. Mao catches Khemkhaeng right on the button with a cross.
Khemkhaeng lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Khemkhaeng fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mao, pushing him back against the cage.
Mao takes a shot to the head.
Khemkhaeng throws a punch but it's blocked by Mao.

Mao's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mao.

Mao's coach down at Temple of Fitness was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mao's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Mao tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mao tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Khemkhaeng's elbow.
Mao avoids the elbow strike from Khemkhaeng, against the cage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
