The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bage throws a hook to the side of Newton's head but Newton sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Newton blocks a jab.
Newton moves away from the strike by Bage.
Bage just misses with a punch to the body.
Newton tries to clinch but Bage is having none of it.
Bage shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Newton misses with a head kick.
Bage is looking to counter the offense by Newton and move into the clinch.
Newton blocks the body kick.
Newton throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bage.
Newton keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Newton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
