Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sullivan Gross (ranked 4017 p4p, 5596 weight class) and Storm Father (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Father thuds his right hand into Gross's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Gross fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Father to the ground. Gross is now in Father's guard.
Father is wriggling around but Gross manages to pass to half guard.
Gross is breathing heavily.

Father manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Gross keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Father fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Gross turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gross manages to end up in side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Father is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Gross walks into a stiff left hand from Father.

That was a close round but I would say that Sullivan Gross will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Storm Father showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gross changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Father looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gross throws a right and a left that both miss.
Father's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Father duly obliges.

Father gets tackled into the cage by Gross. Gross maintains the clinch.
Father drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Father prevents a body shot from Gross.
Gross lands with a right to the head.

Gross breaks from the clinch.
Father tries to clinch up but Gross circles away and keeps his distance.
Gross moves forwards but Father connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Gross looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Gross prevents Father from standing back up.
Well, if Gross is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Gross has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Father wants to get back to his feet.
Gross stalling.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Storm Father has got the better of the ground game so far.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Father tries to clinch but Gross is having none of it.

Gross moves into range and clinches up with Father.

Gross has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Father regains guard immediately.
Father wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gross manages to pass to side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sullivan Gross.
I think Gross has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
