Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phol Boxaaja (ranked 2418 p4p, 3893 weight class) and Mo Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mo Lee has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 42 - 26 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phol Boxaaja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mo Lee!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boxaaja closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard.
Boxaaja tries to stand and escape but Lee is controlling the position.

Boxaaja is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lee defends it well.
Lee has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boxaaja looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boxaaja. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Boxaaja looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lee is looking to control Boxaaja's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lee avoid being mounted?
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Boxaaja in particular looking to stall.
Boxaaja's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Further stalling from Boxaaja.

Boxaaja is trying to work for a kimura but Lee is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boxaaja is controlling the pace.
Boxaaja has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Boxaaja is working for a kimura but Lee is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lee tries to get to full guard but Boxaaja has control of the leg.

Boxaaja seems to be looking for submissions.
Boxaaja slows the pace down in half guard.
Lee is trying to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Boxaaja seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lee for as long as he can get away with.
Boxaaja will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Boxaaja is looking for a kimura here.

Boxaaja is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lee is looking to escape.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Phol Boxaaja dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Boxaaja gets a double leg takedown into Lee's guard.
Lee is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Boxaaja sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lee's guard.

Boxaaja is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Boxaaja seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lee is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
