McNulty slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
McNulty drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gibson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now McNulty has Gibson in his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that James McNulty will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

McNulty working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gibson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gibson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gibson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of McNulty 's head.

Gibson got a little sloppy there for a moment and McNulty has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gibson has managed to get both his arms back between McNulty 's legs - danger averted.
