This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 32 losses; Nate Pawn! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 104 wins and 45 losses; Pacer Dalton! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Pawn drives through and clinches with Dalton against the ropes.
Pawn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Dalton smiles and moves away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dalton has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Dalton looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Pawn! Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Pawn (0) vs (4) Dalton Pawn trying to remain calm as Dalton controls from the top position. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dalton's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pawn is looking for a sweep. Dalton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. It looks like Dalton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dalton is continuing to stall. Let's hope that Dalton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pawn tries to get back to half guard but can't. Dalton just content to control the position. Pawn can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dalton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Pawn seems a little lost for a moment, as Dalton dominates the positioning. Pawn tries to buck Dalton off but Dalton is having none of it. Dalton is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Pawn will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Dalton. Pawn is looking to regain half guard here but Dalton keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dalton controlling the position from side mount. More stalling from Dalton. Pawn is trying to control Dalton's posture but Dalton avoids it. Dalton just content to control the position. Yet more stalling tactics from Dalton.

That's ten minutes gone in the round. Pawn can't do much from the bottom here. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Pawn manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Dalton takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Pawn is looking to control Dalton's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pawn avoid being mounted? Dalton wants to pass to mount but Pawn is defending the position.
That's twelve minutes gone in the round. Dalton is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Pawn tries to get to full guard but Dalton has control of the leg. Dalton controlling the action here. Pawn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dalton is working away from the top position though. Dalton looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Pawn won't allow Dalton to pass to mount. Dalton keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Dalton is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Pawn! Score +3 for passing guard: Pawn (0) vs (7) Dalton Dalton controlling from mount. Dalton mounts Pawn! Really nice guard pass there! Dalton controlling the pace for now.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dalton tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
