The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicholas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Justen seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Justen keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nicholas.

Justen moves into range and clinches up with Nicholas.

Nicholas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Justen tries to clinch up
and Nicholas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Justen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nicholas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Justen somewhat.

We've been informed that Nicholas has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Nicholas counters with a left to the body.

It looks like Herbert Justen has been cut.
Justen is breathing heavily.
Justen has his takedown stuffed
and Nicholas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herbert Justen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nicholas lands with a right and another and another! Justen is in big trouble! Nicholas lands again and this time it's lights out for Justen! A quality knockout there for Nicholas.
