Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tatsura Konogawa (ranked 4006 p4p, 2778 weight class) and Nick Ger (ranked 306 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tatsura Konogawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Ger! The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Konogawa gets caught napping as Ger dives in and scores a takedown. Konogawa manages to retain guard. Ger is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Konogawa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Konogawa wants to stand but Ger is controlling the position. Konogawa really is a fat lump. Konogawa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ger controls the pace. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Konogawa wants to stand up but Ger is controlling him. Ger with a flurry of punches that miss. Ger is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ger makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Ger showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ger has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Horrible takedown attempt by Ger or perhaps it was just good defense by Konogawa, which made it look bad. Konogawa is looking for a counter combo. Excellent takedown into side control there by Ger. Konogawa is looking to get back to his feet here but Ger is keeping cool and he's managed to take Konogawa's back. Ger looking for the choke but no joy. Ger controlling from the back.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Konogawa trying to get back to his feet but Ger is in full control for now. Konogawa is covering up but some of the strikes from Ger are getting through and doing damage.
Ger has good solid back control here. Ger missing with punches from the back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ger biding his time, looking for the opening.
Konogawa defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard. Ger is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Konogawa accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Ger dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Ger gets tackled into the cage by Konogawa. Konogawa maintains the clinch. Konogawa tries to pull guard but Ger forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Konogawa is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Ger drags the fight down to the ground.
Konogawa landing with the ground and pound. Ger is pulling down on Konogawa's head to control his posture. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Konogawa wants to control from the top but Ger keeps moving. Ger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Konogawa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Konogawa trying to control the position from guard on top but Ger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Konogawa's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ger stands up from guard. Let's bang! Ger fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Konogawa avoids it really well and circles away. Konogawa is looking to counter with head kicks. Ger looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Konogawa is fending him off so far but Ger persists. Nope, Konogawa circles away and we're back to standing. As Ger looks to move away, Konogawa throws a big counter combo but Ger just gets out of the way.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ger instigates a clinch. Ger is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Ger keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Konogawa's efforts to push away. Konogawa gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Ger avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Konogawa. Konogawa looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ger is concentrating on defense, preventing Konogawa from advancing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Konogawa working Ger over with strikes. Konogawa stops Ger from getting back to his feet.
Ger controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Ger blocking the ground and pound attempt from Konogawa. Konogawa tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ger controls his leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tatsura Konogawa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Konogawa shoots in and drives through. Ger sprawls well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ger shoots in looking for a takedown. Konogawa tries to sprawl out of it but Ger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Konogawa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tatsura Konogawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Ger. Ger shoots in for a takedown but Konogawa shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Konogawa seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Ger gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Konogawa counters with a left and a right that stings Ger. Konogawa fails in his attempt to clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Konogawa throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ger's head. Konogawa defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ger. Konogawa appears to be looking for a big counter. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tatsura Konogawa dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round! Konogawa throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ger. A head kick by Ger misses and Konogawa counters with a three punch combo that has Ger backing up. Ger nods at Konogawa to acknowledge the strikes. Konogawa throws a sloppy head kick and Ger counters with a nice kick to the body. Ger misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Konogawa went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. A head kick by Ger misses and Konogawa counters with a three punch combo that has Ger backing up. Ger nods at Konogawa to acknowledge the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Konogawa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ger tries to avoid it but Konogawa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ger to the ground. Ger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Konogawa enables Ger to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Konogawa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ger won't allow Konogawa to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ger slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Konogawa wants to stand but Ger is controlling the position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ger clinches up against the cage. Ger manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Konogawa wants to control from the top but Ger keeps moving. Ger controls Konogawa momentarily but Konogawa frees himself. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ger is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ger postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Ger passes into half guard. Ger working over Konogawa with some ground and pound. Konogawa looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Ger is looking to take a break and control but Konogawa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Nick Ger has got the better of the ground game so far. Ger is taking a breather. Konogawa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Konogawa lands with a kick to the temple. Ger shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Nick Ger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ger throws a strike but Konogawa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Konogawa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Konogawa trying to control the position from guard on top but Ger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Nick Ger. I think Ger has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
