Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23674 p4p, 23613 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yawa Kiang has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 40 - 72 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 54 - 57 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Kiang fails with an attempt to clinch.
Nada counters with a body kick. Nice takedown defense from Nada. No joy for Kiang on that attempt. Kiang shoots in and bounces Nada off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Kiang is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nada is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Nada throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Nada pulls Kiang in close to prevent any damage. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kiang's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Nada has Kiang pulled in close to control his posture.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Nada shoots in looking for a takedown but Kiang manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Nada's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kiang shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kiang showed some decent athleticism there. Nada is trying to maintain the position but Kiang is very close to passing his half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nada is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kiang looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Nada keeping hold of Kiang's head, controlling as best he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nada wants to control the action here but instead Kiang manages to pass to full mount! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yawa Kiang dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Nada. Nada shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kiang seems keen to control Nada's posture. Nada looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nada slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kiang pulls Nada in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kiang is trying to hold Nada in close to prevent damage but Nada has managed to pass into half guard.
Kiang is looking to get back to full guard here but Nada has managed to pass to side control instead. Kiang wants to control but Nada postures up. Kiang tries to buck Nada off but Nada is having none of it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Nada stuffs the takedown attempt from Kiang. Kiang gets slowly back to his feet. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nada dives in and scores a takedown into Kiang's guard. Nada postures up in Kiang's guard and throws a big left but Kiang blocks it. Nada is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Let's hope that Nada has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiang wants to sweep here but Nada controlling him for the moment. Kiang has Nada pulled in close to control his posture. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nada showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Way Nada showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round! Nada throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kiang's waist but Kiang gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nada off to one side. And Kiang counters with a quick kick to the body but Nada blocks it. A momentary lapse in concentration from Kiang enables Nada to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kiang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Way Nada has got the better of the ground game so far. Nada is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang trying to control the position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kiang trying to keep a closed guard but Nada is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Nada trying to control but Kiang is working from the bottom.

The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nada thinks about the counter body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kiang tries for a takedown but Nada sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nada counters with a body kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yawa Kiang. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nada shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kiang as he avoids it easily. Nada tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Kiang swivels and escapes. It looked like Kiang was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Nada closes the distance and clinches up with Kiang, looking for a takedown. Nada pushes Kiang against the cage but Kiang circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Nada displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kiang. Nada bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! You can see the frustration on Kiang's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Nada looking to control but instead Kiang has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Way Nada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Nada has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
