Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Trujillo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Islam Abduvalev!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abduvalev tries to keep at a distance but Trujillo has taken the fight into the clinch.
Trujillo throws a head punch that misses.

Abduvalev is trying to trip Trujillo. He has hold of a leg but Trujillo is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Abduvalev persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Abduvalev looking to sit in guard and control but Trujillo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Abduvalev is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Trujillo defends well.
Abduvalev is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trujillo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Trujillo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Abduvalev is looking for a triangle but Trujillo pushes his legs off easily.
Trujillo passes Abduvalev's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Trujillo prevents Abduvalev from improving his position.
Abduvalev is refusing to be controlled, as Trujillo sits in half guard.
Ground and pound from Trujillo.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abduvalev is trying to control but Trujillo manages to pass to mount!
Abduvalev is in a horrible position here. Trujillo smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Trujillo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Abduvalev can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Abduvalev is trying desperately to improve position.

Trujillo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abduvalev can do anything to dispel that myth.

Trujillo looking to control but Abduvalev is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Trujillo wants to stand but Abduvalev is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Abduvalev keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Abduvalev looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Trujillo wants to control but Abduvalev is keeping busy.
Trujillo keeps control of the position as Abduvalev tries to break free.
Trujillo trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Abduvalev tries to roll but Trujillo sticks to his back.

Trujillo really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Abduvalev.
Abduvalev rolls, trying to escape but Trujillo keeps control of the position.
Abduvalev trying to control but not successfully.
Trujillo doesn't have the hooks in and Abduvalev manages to turn into his guard.
Trujillo seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Abduvalev is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Trujillo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Abduvalev is looking to defend but Trujillo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Abduvalev! Trujillo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Abduvalev taps out and this one is all over!
