Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Miko Laaksonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Octavio Sampson!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sampson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Laaksonen unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Laaksonen manages to break the clinch.
Sampson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Laaksonen finds it's way round the side to connect with Sampson's head.
Sampson throws a sloppy head kick
and Laaksonen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sampson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Laaksonen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sampson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Laaksonen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Laaksonen wants to stand but Sampson is controlling the position.
Sampson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Sampson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sampson is stalling in the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laaksonen will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Sampson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Laaksonen to the mat! Laaksonen manages to get full guard.

Sampson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Sampson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sampson is looking to stand up but Laaksonen won't let him.
Sampson prevents Laaksonen from getting back to his feet.

and Laaksonen counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sampson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Laaksonen counters with a stiff right hand.

Laaksonen lands a body shot.
Sampson throws a head kick that misses
and Laaksonen counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Laaksonen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sampson.
Sampson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Laaksonen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sampson tries for a takedown but Laaksonen circles away easily
and Laaksonen counters with a stiff right hand.
Laaksonen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Laaksonen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sampson has his takedown stuffed
and Laaksonen counters with a nice uppercut.
Miko Laaksonen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Octavio Sampson.
Sampson looks winded!

Laaksonen swinging wildly here.
Laaksonen lands with a good body shot.
Laaksonen is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Laaksonen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A left lands for Laaksonen.
Laaksonen throws a good cross that connects.
Sampson walks into a stiff left hand from Laaksonen.
Sampson closes the distance looking to clinch
and Laaksonen makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Miko Laaksonen dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Laaksonen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sampson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Laaksonen scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Laaksonen listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Sampson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Sampson gets a double leg takedown into Laaksonen's guard.
Laaksonen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Sampson puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Sampson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Laaksonen!
Laaksonen tries to improve his position but Sampson has taken his back! Sampson has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Laaksonen tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Sampson pushes Laaksonen away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
