The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gennari tests Cro Cop's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Gennari misses with a two punch combination.
Gennari throws a jab when Cro Cop was well out of range.
Cro Cop tries to clinch up.
Cro Cop walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Ernesto Cro Cop has been cut.
A big left from Cro Cop misses.
Gennari swats away the attempt to clinch by Cro Cop.

Gennari lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Cro Cop goes down! The ref sends Gennari to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Cro Cop is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gennari cracks Cro Cop with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Cro Cop get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Cro Cop looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!

and Gennari counters with an outside leg kick.
Gennari looks to land a combination but Cro Cop avoids it well.
Cro Cop wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Decent striking displayed by Gennari there.
Cro Cop takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gennari looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Cro Cop throws a head kick that misses.
Cro Cop looks for the body kick but Gennari saw that one coming.
Gennari throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Cro Cop is breathing heavily.

Gennari scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Cro Cop to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Gennari away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Cro Cop got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
Gennari weaves into range and cracks Cro Cop right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Cro Cop goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Gennari is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
