Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hans Peter Baxxter (ranked 2016 p4p, 2445 weight class) and Tyres Widforss (ranked 202 p4p, 229 weight class). Baxxter comes to the cage accompanied by Weekend, Scooter. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Hans Peter Baxxter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyres Widforss!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baxxter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Widforss sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Widforss will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Widforss closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Baxxter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Widforss wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Widforss tries for a kimura but Baxxter is defending well.
I wouldn't like to be where Baxxter is right now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baxxter is looking to reverse the position.

You can see the frustration on Baxxter's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Widforss wants to lay and pray for a moment but Baxxter keeps working.

Widforss goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Baxxter has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Widforss but great work by Baxxter.

Widforss is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Baxxter's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Baxxter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Widforss has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Baxxter can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tyres Widforss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Widforss uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baxxter.
And Widforss tries to counter it with a takedown but Baxxter pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Tyres Widforss is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
A bone on bone clash there as Widforss blocks the leg kick.

Widforss gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Widforss tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Baxxter defends well and Widforss ends up having to push Baxxter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Baxxter goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Widforss goes for a double leg but Baxxter avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Baxxter continues to drive forward.
Baxxter is looking to counter with a body kick.
Widforss shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Baxxter pinned against the cage. Baxxter gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Baxxter looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Hans Peter Baxxter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyres Widforss.
Widforss takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Widforss swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Baxxter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Baxxter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
